From Open Media Collectors Database
Michael, your initial set up looks good. Thanks for your hard work.
One question, though, on the proposed Table of Contents: Do you think it's necessary to have both a User's Guide and an Administrator's Guide? How would they differ?

Cena, my idea is that the Administrator's Guide will cover things like setting up OpenDb, configuration with the admin.php, etc. A User's Guide will cover things like 'How can I borrow a movie', 'How does the reservation system work', How to add a movie, etc. etc.
But I am not yet sure if it does make sense having a separate section 'Developer's Guide', maybe one should include this in the 'Administrator's Guide'.

Questions regarding the Application
First and formost Thank You for developing such a useful tool! I am having a problem with a new install and I can't seem to get stats working or the secret image functioning. The site functions as expected on all of the other pages. Data entry works, check-in, check-out works great. I am not sure what the issue is but I was questioning the release I installed but I have tried others as well with the same results. I have 41 tables that were created in the MySQL database but I think something missing? or configured wrong. If you have any ideas I would love to entertain some new ideas. Anyway I hope someone responds. I apologize if this was not the forum for this question.
Could somebody please help me?
First, thanks for a great program. I have looked for and tested several DVD archive programs, but this is definitively the best (at least for me). The only thing I'm missing is a location field. I have managed to make a location field that I can fill out when adding a DVD, but it is not linked to the SQL database in any way, and I have no idea as to how to fix that (nope, I don't know SQL...). So the field is empty when I open the DVD againg.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to place this question, but I couldn't find a more appropriate place.

Page Abuse
Hi. I arrived at your site from SourceForge. When I arrived, I saw a link that seemed like spam, to me at least. I rolled back two revisions "manually", as I couldn't see the standard "rollback" link that I see in most MediaWiki installations.
I also noticed that WikiSysop tried to protect the page, then immediately unprotected it. I'm assuming that this is part of the internal process on the iamvegan.net site. For the record, I support the suggestion to protect your front page. This is a critical page for anyone, and it does more damage when someone adds a link, be it subtly or be it by deleting most of the page's previous content, to simply get another hit to their site. It's a known attack vector for hackers called "Search Engine Optimization" ... they take advantage of sites that permit them editing rights. If given the choice, and seeing the recent history, I would protect the front page if it was my application.
Just my two cents :) Boonebytes 18:10, 22 May 2010 (CDT)
